It’s been over 10 years since GTA V captured our hearts, becoming one of the most popular games of the last decade. Even today, GTA V is still one of the top 5 most-watched games on Twitch, and its audience continues to grow. A key reason for this is the variety of gameplay options, made possible by fan-created mods. One of the most impactful mods in the GTA V community is FiveM. In this guide we’ll show you how to download FiveM.
What is FiveM?
FiveM is a multiplayer platform designed specifically for GTA V. With FiveM, you can access hundreds of unique game modes and experiences, playing with friends or joining others online.
As of January 2024, there are over 1,700 active servers on FiveM. Each server offers different gameplay options like roleplay, freeroam, RPG, and more—all within the GTA V world.
How to Download FiveM
To get started with FiveM, you’ll need a licensed copy of GTA V (from Steam, Social Club, or another platform). Then, head over to the FiveM download page.
• Click the “Download Client” button.
• You’ll be prompted to read the Terms of Service. If you agree, click “Sure, I Agree” in the bottom-right corner.
• If the download doesn’t start, make sure to allow downloads from the website in your browser.
How to Install FiveM
After the download is complete, run the FiveM.exe file. The installer will download around 200MB of additional files and ask you to select the folder containing GTA V.
• If the installer automatically detects your GTA V folder, you’re good to go! If not, here’s where you’ll find it depending on your launcher:
• Steam: Disk:\Steam\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto V
• Social Club: C:\Program Files(x86)\Rockstar Games\Social Club
Once installed, you can launch FiveM and start exploring!
